Welcome to North Knives
Lovingly Handmade Chef & Kitchen Knives.
Just miles from Millom Ironworks and Coniston Coppermines in the UK, North Knives has emerged from the heritage of Cumbrian mining with a modern take on knives for your kitchen.
We are focused on using products from the UK, where possible, and supporting our local suppliers & economy. All the steel we offer as standard is made in Sheffield - aka “Steel City”- once the steel-making capital of the world.
With a view to sustainability & the environment; our standard steels are 95% recycled. We also offer reclaimed wood & recycled plastic handle options. Our electricity supplier is Octopus Energy, so all our electricity comes from 100% renewable sources like sun, wind and water.
Put the fun back into food prep!
For us, the beauty of a knife is in its performance. So, you can rest assured that all our knives excel in the kitchen. Glide through the preparation of your next home cooked meal with our knives; equally adept when used in a busy working environment, they are designed for a lifetime of use and enjoyment.
Each knife is a unique, handmade item that can be tailored to your liking for a truly personalised tool and lifelong friend.
Our core range has been developed over the past 3 years and is ever expanding to meet the needs of Chefs and discerning home cooks alike.

Meet Jack
Hi, I’m Jack and I’m currently a one man team undertaking all aspects of business at North Knives.
I’m passionate about cooking, wholesome ingredients and the tools we need to create magic in the kitchen.
I’m obsessed with knifemaking!
Every individual knife receives my full love, care and attention for hours and hours on end.
Massive thank you for your interest and to all the people that have supported me in this journey; from the people that have ordered knives, to the people watching along with me on YouTube. I couldn’t do it without you. Special mention to Raymond Towers, a stranger in the pub who believed in me from the beginning and gave me a leg up when I needed it. Now a cherished friend.
And of course my loving partner and family who have shown unwavering support for my ventures into the difficult world of knifemaking. Blessings to you all!
